At first I didn't understand The Inferno at all. That might have had something to do with the fact that we started in the middle of the book and then skipped to the end, but it ended up actually being really interesting. Although Dante's book wasn't necessarily biblically accurate it made me really think about how horrible it would be to wind up going to Hell. It also made me want to check into what the bible actually says about Hell. Surprisingly enough some of the punishments could be very similar to some of those described by dante such as Revelations 14:10. "That person will also drink of the wine of God’s anger that has been mixed undiluted in the cup of his wrath, and he will be tortured with fire and sulfur in front of the holy angels and in front of the Lamb." This verse could possily be very similar the punishment of burning sand dante pictured.

Even though I didn't really like The Inferno, it made me think a lot. A person may be set in thinking they're going to heaven, but they may end up going to hell. Many godly people in the book ended up in hell. This made me realize that I shouldn't be so sure about going to heaven.
