I'm suprised you didn't mention these movies when we read All Quiet. The best movies that are best to watch that are like All Quiet is the movies Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima (I think i spelled that wrong). They were directed by Clint Eastwood and they are amazing. Flags shows the American side of WW2 and the attacks on Iwo right before the war was over and how it effected the soldiers and Letters shows the Japanese side of the war and how they had to prepare the island Iwo Jima on being attacked by the american soldiers. You get to see both sides on the same war. I think these movies would be better to show than the one you showed last semester because it's more touching. Either way check them out i'm sure you'll like them :)
Well, anonymous (I have no clue who you are), I do usually mention both of those movies when we get to WWII and Vietnam unit. I may have forgotten sometimes. I have seen them both and you are correct, they are amazing. (Although I do still think "We Were Soldiers" is likely one of the best war movies of all time!) However, I couldn't show them in class because, if I remember correctly, they are both rated R. (So, are you from last semester, then?) :) Whoever you are, great to know you're reading! And talking! And leaving longer comments than the majority of people so far...
