This book was a good book for people who like war books. I thought it did a good job about vivid discription of scareing people form going to the war. some books don't have as much detail as this one did. but in some parts he should have make it more exciting. I liked the last chapter it was very exciting. I didn't like that everybody died in the end.

I think that this book was an excellent choice to read. This book has showed me that the enemy isn't just a monster with a gun. They are humans with families, jobs, and friends back at home. It was kind of weird at some times because I would find myself chering Paul on even though he was the one killing mine and your ancestors. This book gives great detail into what the actual men in the army think of the war as well. It shows that they aren't always up front killing. Sometimes they are just sitting around bonfires at night just like normal humans. One thing I didn't like was how slow the book moved. The beginning of each chapter was boring for about the first four to six pages.
By the end of the chapters the book was great. So all in all, this was a good book and I'm glad we read it this year.
